Video 37: The $8000 first-time homebuyer tax credit is set to be extended and expanded. The House and Senate have both now approved a bill that expected to be signed by the President shortly that will extend the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit to homes under contract by April 30, 2010 and closed by June 30, 2010. Income levels for individuals qualifying have also been raised to $125,000 for individuals and $225,000 for couples. Also added is a move-up credit of $6500 for those wanting to move up in houses, have lived in their present house for at least five years and meet the same income requirements. Would love to hear your thoughts, you can leave a comment or e-mail me Dean Ouellette.
