BusinessWeek Magazine has named Gilbert as the best place in Arizona to raise kids. BusinessWeek teamed with OnBoard Informatics to rate the best communities for families to raise kids. Other Arizona communities to make the list included Phoenix and Scottsdale.

Over the last year print newspapers have been cutting back staffs in an effort to save money. While the East Valley Tribune has made dozens of cuts, the cost cutting methods have not been enough.

Today the Tribune has announced they are cutting 40% of their staff and making drastic changes which include going to four days a week. The Tribune will be withdrawing from the Scottsdale and Tempe markets completely. While they will continue delivery service to Mesa, Chandler and Gilbert, they will be cutting back to four editions per week and will be publishing online for the other three days.
